re-instituted Accounting Operations Management System
Finally re-instituted at the Provincial Accounting Office; the Accounting Operations Management System (AOMS) is just one of the component of Financial Management Information System (FMIS). It is virtually linked with other finance offices namely the Provincial Budget Office and the Provincial Treasury Office.
Prior to AOMS, Accounting Information System (AIS) was originally the first system developed and implemented in 2006. Since the programmer left for greener pasture, the usage was stopped and Accounting Office returned to manual operations. First quarter of 2010, MIS programmers decided to create a new system to satisfy their needs and the reporting modules in line with COA regulations.
The software development team in-charge for this project were Engr. Jumar V. Boniza and Engr. Edward Emannuel D. Gatong. They were also the developers for Treasury Operations Management System and Budget Monitoring System, respectively.
Basic Features of the system includes:
- Provisions of accounting journal entry template for common transactions to facilitate recording.
- Automatic checking of balances between debits and credits.
- Electronic processing and approval of journal entry voucher, recording of transactions in the general journal and posting to respective general ledger and subsidiary ledger.
- Monitoring balances of appropriations, allotments, obligations, and cash allocations.
